Add Suptask to your Slack workspace

Sign up to Suptask via www.suptask.com and follow through with the Get Started guide to get the Suptask App added to your Slack workspace.

Once Suptask is added you are ready to start using its ticketing features on Slack.

Setup channels

Before you can start using Suptask in your Slack workspace you first need channels to be created.

The easiest setup to get started with is the following that allows for a workflow to send and receive tickets:

  • Create channel #it-help where users submit tickets to get help. Here you invite users that should be allowed to request help using tickets.
  • Create channel 🔒it-help-respond where responding users (agents) reply and remediate tickets. Here you invite users that will work on the requested tickets in a private channel.

Working with tickets (and the power of emoji's)

Suptask uses emoji's to perform certain actions. They are easy to access, provides visibility to everyone and is a native part of Slack.

Creating a ticket is done by writing a message with the topic of your ticket, in the requester channel. Then apply the :ticket: emoji (🎟️ or 🎫) on the message to edit and submit the ticket form.

Responding with a public reply within a ticket is done by applying the :trumpet: 🎺 emoji on the thread message reply. Messages without a trumpet stays private.

Note: Tickets can also be created using Slack shortcuts

Overview & Search

Suptask App in the left menu of Slack provides an overview over all tickets that You as a user have access to. Use filtering to search for tickets matching your criteria.
